Elections for the 2012 WGGLL Board of Directors will be held on Closing Day, June 2nd 2011 at the WGGLL Complex.
You may submit an absentee ballot if you will not be at closing ceremonies. Please send requests for absentee ballot with name and address to secondvice@wggll.org.

Below are the listed responsibilities and requirements for each position, per the WGGLL ByLaws:
1. President
a. Responsible to the Board of Directors for the satisfactory operation of the Local League in accordance with the Constitution, By-Laws, and Standing Rules established by the Board of Directors.
b. Establish organization structure and make appointments subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.
c. Preside at all regular and special meetings of the Local League.
d. Sign all written contracts of the Local League as authorized by the Board of Directors.
e. Any action not specifically addressed within the Articles of the Local League Constitution, By-Laws, and Standing Rules will remain within the purview of the President.
f. Responsible for approving the schedule for regular season and playoff games.
g. Responsible for verifying birth records and residence within the boundaries for eligible players.
h. Review and approve minutes prior to distribution to the Members and/or the Board or others, as applicable.
i. Eligibility for this position can only be obtained by serving on the WGGLL Board of Directors the previous year and being “in good standing”.
j. Is responsible for filing of the League’s tax return by October 31.
2. First Vice-President
a. In the absence of the President, shall perform the duties of the President.
b. Responsible for the primary fund-raising activity of the Local League.
c. Responsible for the development of game schedules for all Senior League, Junior League, and Little League Major and Minor League teams.
d. Responsible for all non-playoff game rescheduling.
e. Responsible for all playoff game scheduling.
3. Second Vice-President
a. In the absence of the President and First Vice-President, shall perform the duties of the President.
b. Responsible for planning and coordinating all opening day ceremonies and activities.
c. Responsible for all player registration and associated publicity.
d. Chairperson of Nominating Committee.
e. Chairperson of the Winter League Committee.
4. Third Vice-President
a. In the absence of the President, First Vice-President and Second Vice-President shall perform the duties of the President.
b. Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and distributing Local League pictures.
c. Responsible for securing and assigning sponsors for teams in the Local League.
d. Coordinate with the Treasurer for collection of sponsorship fees.
e. Responsible for distributing sponsorship acknowledgments in a timely manner.
f. Responsible for coordinating, purchasing and distributing league awards.
5. Secretary
a. Responsible for recording the minutes of all Board of Directors meetings and for distributing it (following approval by the President) to the Board of Directors.
b. Handle all correspondence of the Local League, as directed by the President and/or by action of the Board of Directors.
c. Responsible for providing advance notices concerning all regular and special meetings of the Local League.
d. Responsible for recording the minutes of all General meetings, providing a copy of it to the league President for approval, and posting a copy of approved minutes at the next General meeting.
e. Responsible for obtaining all fields permits.
f. Responsible for scheduling room reservations with school district.
6. Treasurer
a. Assume responsibility for the funds of the Local League and deposit them in a depository approved by the Board of Directors.
b. Pay all bills, which are duly approved by the Board of Directors.
c. Keep books of account of receipts and expenditures, which shall be open at all times for inspection by the Board of Directors.
d. Make such financial reports as designated by the President and/or the Board of Directors, including monthly and final financial reports and such governmental reports and filings as required. Treasurer shall be responsible for all-governmental reports and filings pertaining to their tenure of office.
e. League books must be balanced monthly against bank statement.
f. Chairperson of the Budget Committee.
g. Treasurer may serve three consecutive one- year terms, then either take another position on the board or sit out for one year.
h. Is responsible for compiling all
necessary financial documents and presenting them to the League
President for preparation
of tax returns by
7. Little League Player Agent
a. Coordinate the annual player selection system, including conducting the Little League Tryouts and conducting and facilitating the Little League Drafts.
b. Responsible for assisting the President in checking legal birth records and eligibility of players.
c. Supervise and coordinate the transfer of players to or from minor leagues according to provisions of the regulations of Little League Baseball, Inc., and the Standing Rules for the Local League.
d. Responsible for all league rosters, including rosters for tournament play.
e. Must have served one (1) full term as a past or current member of the Board of Directors of the Local League.
8. Senior League Player Agent
a. Coordinate the Big, Senior and Junior League annual player selection system, including tryouts and drafts.
b. Responsible for assisting the President in checking legal births records and eligibility of Senior and Junior League players.
c. Supervise and coordinate the transfer of players to or from Senior and Junior Leagues according to local and Little League regulations.
d. Responsible for all Senior and Junior League rosters, including rosters for tournament play.
e. Must have served one (1) full term as a past or current member of the Board of Directors of the Local League.
9. Purchasing Agent
a. Purchase, issue, replace and dispose of all Local League’s playing equipment, as approved by the Board of Directors.
b. Implement an equipment check-out/check-in procedure to ensure return of all Local Leagues owned equipment.
c. Responsible for storing all playing equipment of the Local League during the winter recesses.
d. Develop and maintain purchased goods and inventory control program, which can be utilized as required, by the Board of Directors, to verify account payable, equipment disbursements and stock on hand.
e. Keys to the equipment room shall be limited to the President, Purchasing Agent and those board members assigned to the alarm duty.
f. Eligibility for this position can only be obtained by serving on the WGGLL Board of Directors the previous year and being “in good standing”.
10. Chief Umpire
a. Responsible for training, supervising and scheduling umpires as specified in the Standing Rules of the Local League.
b. Schedule and conduct umpire clinics.
c. Chairman of the Umpire Review Board.
d. An Umpire Review Board shall be established consisting of the Chief Umpire as chairman, and two (2) members of the Board of Directors, as appointed by the President.
e. The Umpire Review Board shall have the authority to declare a person unqualified to umpire games and may require said person to take additional umpiring instruction before umpiring another game or may exclude said person from umpiring games.
(Declaring an umpire unqualified does not relieve the Manager of the team who provided said umpire of his responsibility for providing a qualified umpire for future games).
f. Requests for reevaluation of umpire qualifications for any specific umpire shall be made in writing to Chief Umpire, up to 48 hours after the completion of affected game.
Umpire Review Board will only consider a reevaluation if the request is submitted by a team official or a member of the WGGLL Board of Directors.
11. Auxiliary Chairperson
1. Responsible to the Board of Directors for the satisfactory operation of the Auxiliary Committee in accordance with the Constitution, By-Laws and Standing Rules established by the Board of Directors.
12. Safety Coordinator
a. Responsible for establishing safety procedures, subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
b. Responsible for purchasing and maintaining safety equipment and supplies (excluding playing equipment) as approved by the Board of Directors.
c. Responsible for handling accident insurance claim forms and related correspondence with Little League Baseball, Inc., and/or their insurance representatives.
d. Responsible for reporting to the Board of Directors any detected hazards or violations of safety procedures.
e. Work in conjunction with Field Maintenance Coordinator to ensure safe upkeep of all playing facilities, structures and related equipment.
f. Arrange practice facilities and specify divisional usage, as applicable.
g. Arrange for the portable restrooms.
13. League Information Officer
1. Manage the league’s official web site.
2. Manage the online registration process and ensure that league rosters are maintained on the site.
3. Assign administrative rights to league volunteers and teams.
4. Ensure that league news is updated on a regular basis.
5. Collect, post and distribute important information on League activities including direct dissemination of fund-raising and sponsor activities to Little League Baseball, district, public, league members and media.
6. Serve as primary contact person for Little League regarding optimizing use of the interest for league administration and for distributing information to league members and to Little League Baseball.
Elected Auxiliary Committee Members:
1. First Vice Auxiliary Chairperson
a. Shall act as aide to the Chairperson and in her/his absence shall assume the duties of Chairperson.
b. Coordinate the League Dance/Parents’ Night.
c. Help corresponding Executive Board member as needed.
2. Second Vice Auxiliary Chairperson
a. Schedule the Snack Shack Workers up to and including all tournament play.
b. Responsible for producing and distributing a Team Representative Handbook.
c. Responsible for meeting with Team Representatives before the season opens to go over all League functions and for scheduling any additional meetings as deemed necessary by the Auxiliary and/or Executive Board.
d. Help corresponding Executive Board member as needed.
3. Third Vice Auxiliary Chairperson
a. Responsible for the League Picnic, Sponsor Appreciation Day, and Special Persons Day.
b. Help corresponding Executive Board member as needed.
