Benefit for Dean Hirsch THIS SATURDAY
This Saturday is player appreciation day, and all players will receive a free Root Beer Float. WGGLL will be collecting donations and selling Root Beer floats to fans, sending all proceeds to The Hirsch Family of West Garden Grove. The Hirsches are actively involved in AYSO and have recently found out that their 10 year-old son Dean, a talented soccer player and student, has contracted a rare form of lymphoma and is now undergoing chemo-therapy treatment at CHOC.And before or after your baseball game on Saturday, you can swing by the AYSO fields at Chapman and Knott starting at 8:00 AM for a breakfast burrito or taco plate being served there as a fundraiser put on by the U13 Girls Extra team. 100% of proceeds going to the family.
WGGLL is about the kids of West Garden Grove, not just the kids that play baseball but ALL the kids around West Garden Grove. The health and well being of our kids should be and is our number one concern. Be sure to show your support if not by buying a treat then by keeping Dean Hirsch and his family in your prayers and kind thoughts.

Home Runs This Week
Saturday saw 3 homers in each of two games. Christopher H. and Cody M. of the Major Yankees hit their second home runs of the season, and Nate D. of the Major Cardinals became the latest member of the 2012 Home Run Club.
In the late game, Josh M. of the Major Red Sox hit a pair of dingers for the second time this season, and teammate Ben J. added his third of the season.
On Tuesday, Nate D. of the Major Cardinals went on to hit his second of the year and teammate Hayden G. notched his fifth.

2013 Board Positions
Attention parents of WGGLL players - On June 2nd, 2012, during little league closing ceremonies, elections will be taking place for the 2013 WGGLL Executive Board positions. These positions include:
President, First, Second and Third Vice President
Auxiliary Chairperson, First/Second/Third Auxiliary Vice Chairpersons
League Secretary, Treasurer, Player Agent, Chief Umpire, Purchasing Agent, Safety Coordinator, and League Information Officer
A description of these positions and their responsibilities can be found in the WGGLL Bylaws, available on the Downloads page. A complete description will also be available at the Snack Shack.

General Meeting
There will be a League General Meeting for parents, managers, coaches, and Board members on Tuesday, May 22 at 7:30PM in the Bell multi-purpose room. Come find out about all the end-of-season happenings.
District 46 Tournament Meetings
